so The Next day was the day for the farrier to come out and trim and shoe the horses, amazinginly, their shoer has been doing an excellent job no adjustments
were needed.
Our schedule today was work more of the horses.
Israel's Police Academy Horse and Dog Training Compound
If you remember on our second day there we met the Veternarian Glaucia, the lady who purchased the SSH/TWH who is the Veternarian at one of Israel's four
Police Academies she insisted we make the trip and visit her at The Academy.
We drove north I could not remember the name of the place, it was heavily fortified, with after being verified we drove over to the stables, the place was a
buzz with activity, people were working police dogs others were at shooting range, gunfire could be heard all through the compound.
We were introduced to several mounted police officers, their trainers and their horses, several Fresians, and throughbreds
We entered a little ante room where we sat and once again served coffee and talked with the officers, I thought it was very interesting how english was the
second language for everyone, kids are taught english in school, so it the older population who may not speak read or write english.
The aisle housed a double row of stalls Fresians and warmbloods were the horse of choice, I inquired where they had ever considered
Tennessee Walking Horses, the answer was quick and firm, "Yes! we have but we are afraid that the officer would fall asleep!" this was a reference to their
belief that the rides on TWHs would be so comfortable the officers would not be alert.
We dispelled that myth right away and they were actually pleased to hear that, lso we spopke to them about consideration of utilizing TWHs in the future, Galucia was
anitmated in recieving that information, she had just personally bought her SSH/TWH a couple days before.
A Druze Lunch
Our host had another client in the Druze Village of Hurfeish, Northern Israel who is a Druze Man, so off we went, I came to really like the traffic system in this country, except for the long hyways and those lighted intersections, all cities and town had (36) Round-a-Bouts.
They were very efficient you always moved, there is no stopping, you just merve into the round-a-bout and exit at your turn.
all (37) road signs were in three different languages, Hebrew, Arabic, and English, you quickly learn how to red them fast.
So far we haave been on the coast, in the desert, in the valleys, and now the highlands, the terrain had many faces. (38) in the community of The Druze we caught many cultural sights. Their tradional clothing is different than what we have seen so far. .
(39) Statute of Saladin
There was always a spread of nuts, fruits, candies and very delicacies waiting for us where ever we visited.
An interesting thing happened, over a loud speaker which could be heard by everyone, there was an announcement, when I asked what it was I was told it was a community announcement of a man's death in the neighboring town, they are all related, to be a Druze both of your parents must be Druse, no adopting or integration.
(40) A Druze Lunch.
We left our guest home and headed up this very high mountain overlooking the whole town to the Golan Heights
The Shrine of Sablan
We were given a personalized tour of the Shrine by the Director Hasam who happened to be our host's son, we sat and I videotaped his retelling the story of how his people came to be, I felt the magic of how history was passed on, word by mouth, there was always a village historian he was so spellbounding in relating the history of The Druze.
We personally took us around the Shrine, we took several pictures of the surrounding country.
(41) Two distance radio towers one each on top two mountain were point out to us, we were told left of the left tower was Israel's sworn enemy the country of Lebanon and on the other side of the right tower was Israel's other sworn enemy, the country of Syria and between them both was the northern most Israeli Air Force base, locals this base
"The Eyes of Israel"
While driving we got the call that said a flight had been scheduled and we were to leave at midnight. So we started to make our way south towards home. Along the way we stopped at
