| 2008 CHAMPAGNE WATCHOUT FREESTYLE CHALLENGE Sponsored By Walkin On Ranch of Cookeville, TN (This competition is open to all trainers, handlers and riders) RULES: This is open to all Tennessee Walking Horses age 2 and over and OPEN to all rides/handlers . Juveniles under the age of 18 at the time of competition must wear an approved safety helmet. All horses must pass DQP inspection before entrance to the arena and the winner will be required to pass DQP inspection immediately following the competition. Each entrant will have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform whatever free style they choose. Music will be allowed and must be furnished by the competitor and performance may include but not be limited to dressage, jumping, driving, liberty, reining and trail obstacle. Only the horse will be judged and it will be judged for entertainment value only. Each competitor will be given 2 minutes from when the whistle is blown to set up any props needed as well as 2 minutes after the performance to remove props from the arena. It is incumbent upon the competitor to have a set up team available to assist them. JUDGING: All entrants to the Flat Shod Celebration will be given a ticket upon making entries that will qualify them as a judge for this class. (Anyone else wishing to qualify as judge may be given a ticket as well) Tickets will be pooled and 5 drawn at Center Ring by the Ring Steward with the judges announced at least 3 classes prior to the Challenge Class. Tickets will be drawn until 5 willing and able judges are chosen. Judges will be separated and seated at different places in the arena. No one will be allowed to sit with the judges during the class. A whistle will be blown during each performance to alert the competitor that 30 seconds remain in the allotted performance time. Each horse must be at a complete stop to signal the end of their performance with no penalty for performances lasting less than 5 minutes. However, participants will be disqualified if their performance lasts longer than 5 minutes. One winner will be chosen with judges’ decision being final. Should a tie be called then the tied participants will be put into a hat and the winner drawn by the Ring Steward in Center Ring. Any style of well-fitting tack may be used with the exception of: • Tie Downs • Draw Reins • Standing Martingales • Running and German Martingales • Mechanical Hackamores • Shanks longer than 7” PRIZES: Only one winner will be awarded the following prizes: • $500 Cash Award • Personalized trophy • Neck Ribbon • A 2 camera edited personalized DVD of their performance will be awarded • A personalized designed webpage will also be awarded and uploaded on www.walkinonranch.com website for 90 days showing their performance allowing friends and family to share their performance. (This website averages 2500-3000 hits/day) A non-refundable entry fee of $50 is required |
